Back-to-school Monday was off to a stormy start for some parts of the Houston area, and 11 News Meteorologist David Paul said the threat of scattered thunderstorms would hang around through the afternoon.

A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for Southeast Texas , reports the NWS. Thunderstorms are likely today, particularly in the afternoon. Heavy rainfall is possible, as is the potential for tropical funnel clouds.
